Subject: RE: [egov] RE: e-NOTARIZATION STANDARDS

Title: Message
Dear John and others interested in eGovernment,

CEN/ISSS and ETSI having been running a joint activity on e-signatures and the infrastructure required to such signatures adequate legal 'weight' for them t replace other forms of 'signature' in business.  If you have not already done so you might like to contact John Ketchell the CEN/ISSS Director for more information (john.ketchell@CENORM.BE)  (I would have thought that John Ross might be up with this topic as well.)

Best Regards,

Tony

Dear Mr. Borras:
Thanks so much for your email message.  The standards we are seeking concern how to determine the integrity and reliability of a signature certification authority.  If anyone within your organization or one of your contacts has developed such standards we would be very interested in obtaining a copy of them. Thanks again.
Sincerely yours,
Christal Pike-Nase

e-NOTORISATION STANDARDS

Christal

It was good to meet you, if only very briefly, in Portland.  You asked about standards work for e-notorisation.   As far as I can tell nobody in OASIS is currently working on this, but if you would like to give me a brief overview of the current problems as you see them and the need for such standards,  I'll feed it into my e-governemnt technical committee and see what we can do about agreeing a standard.

I'm not sure I can guarantee an immediate solution as this will have to compete with many other similar requests but  I'll do my best to get it up our agenda quickly.

Regards,

John Borras
