Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ENERGYINTEROP-677) Actor vs Party

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ENERGYINTEROP-677?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=80641#comment-80641 ]

David Holmberg commented on ENERGYINTEROP-677:
----------------------------------------------

Table 2-1, a party is defined as an actor that buys or sells instruments in a CTS marketplace. Thus, party is a subset of actor. In the same table, Marketplace is described as an actor.Â

It seems that "party" in 139 should be "actor". The introduction material almost exclusively uses "actor". Party is limited to an actor that is exchanging tenders and transactions. Sometimes it is not clear to me in later sections whether "party" or "actor" is more appropriate in a given sentence, and it would be valuable to review the use of actor vs. party. In general it seems OK skimming down to section 8.

> 1. The Proposal introduces Actor as a synonym with Party. There is no apparent advantage to the change.
