Subject: [OASIS Issue Tracker] (ENERGYINTEROP-680) Instrument is Unnecessary

    [ https://issues.oasis-open.org/browse/ENERGYINTEROP-680?page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel&focusedCommentId=80642#comment-80642 ]

David Holmberg commented on ENERGYINTEROP-680:
----------------------------------------------

I note that instruments are first mentioned in lines 7,8 and then finally defined in 2.1.3.Â

The statement indicates that we don't need Product, only resource and instrument. Except that a Market sells Products, but a party tenders an instrument to the market. So, we need both instrument and product. A marketplace might sell the same resource as different products (each in its own market), e.g., the RTM and DAM, both selling the same resource, but chunked into different products.Â

> 5. The addition of Instrument as a Product for a Duration in the Proposal is unnecessary, and any market engine that requires Instruments can apply the instrument concept in its interface with TEMIX.
