Subject: [regrep-semantic] Groups - New Action Item #0002 Issue: Classes are not the only type of ontology element
Evan Wallace (ewallace@cme.nist.gov) is proposing a new issue. (not formally submitted with KAVI) Number: #0002 Description: Issue: Class is not the only type of ontology element Owner: Evan Wallace (ewallace@cme.nist.gov) Comments: Evan Wallace 2004-02-24 Use cases 4 and 5 only address linking objects in the registry with classes in an ontology. Different ontology languages support different types of elements. Classes are an important type in OWL, but Properties and Individuals (Instances) are also important. If we choose to support any flavor of OWL in a semantic repository, we will also need to support linking registry objects with any of: OWL Classes, Properties, or Individuals. -Evan
