Subject: RE: [ubl-dev] UBL and GS1 XML

Hi Juha,

As a software vendor who supports but UBL and GS1 standards, I will leave
the details about the differences to others.

You may download free UBL 1.0 and GS1 Readers from www.gefeg.com. These
Readers are reference tools that allow business users to understand GS1 and
UBL XML Business Message Standards without needing XML experience. Users are
able to see the structure and relationship of data as well as any notes
included by GS1 and UBL.

We do not have a Reader available for UBL 2.0 yet. If you have a particular
document in mind that you would like to see in a similar view as the UBL 1.0
documents, please contact me off-line.

Best regards,
Sylvia Webb

Subject: [ubl-dev] UBL and GS1 XML

Hi UBL developers,

I have a case where XML - based messages will be used for communication
between suppliers (industry) and Wholesale and retail (trade) companies in
procurement process.

I got a task to compare UBL and GS1 XML message standards. Are you able to
point out why to prefer one or another in this scenario? What are the pros
and cons for each option? Is there a mapping available for some messages?
What is the relationship between UBL TC and GS1? Is GS1 participating in UBL
work?

Many Thanks in advance,

Juha Ikävalko
