Subject: Re: [ebxml-bp] Ottawa (was) Re: [ebxml-bp] IBM to Support BPEL-BasedWeb Services
Jamie: To answer your question, this was a Canadian Government sponsored initiative to showcase ebXML implementation. The main contact is Ed Buchinski who has worked countless hours to promote UN/CEFACT and OASIS standards within the Canadian Government. Ed has been a forceful proponent for ebXML since early 2000 and is now being recognized in the international and national communities as a visionary for his insight. Several governments worldwide are extremely interested in the GoC ebXML and Web Services strategy. Some of the highlites: 9:00 – 9:15 Welcome + Project Overview, Alexa Brewer, Treasury Board Canada 9:15 – 9:45 Fulfilling Stakeholder Needs: Executive, Program Manager, IM/IT Specialist – Ken Dagg, Fujitsu Consulting 9:45 – 10:05 Business Transformation, GSRM + UMM – Dan Demos, TBS Showcases how UMM is being used in production environments within the GoC. Dan, Ed and others has reconciled the first two layers of UMM with the Government Services Reference Model. This is MDA on steroids! 10:05 – 10:25 Business Process Modelling and Tools – Andrew Robinson, ISA Andrew has been worked with this stuff for 5 years or longer. Very informative. Break 10:25 – 10:45 CPSIN/IJI Data Dictionary – Al Rondeau, PSEP 10:45 – 11:05 Baseline Infrastructure – Suhayl Masud, Different Thinking 11:05 – 11:25 Baseline Standards – Larry Cooper, Maxsys 11:25 – 11:45 Operational Implications – Aziz Abouelfoutouh, PWGSC Aziz showed a very advanced SOA in the context of eGOvernment. Working Lunch 12:15 – 1:00 Coping with Evolving Standards – Jacques Durand, OASIS/Fujitsu Jacques is a guy who can make sense of all the competing, overlapping and disparate standards. Well done!!! 1:00 – 1:20 Registry/repository demo – Richard Lessard, PWGSC An overview of the Yellow Dragon (Now Adobe Systems) registry repository and the open source ebXMLrr. Richard talked about the strengths and weaknesses of both and demonstrated both working. 1:20 – 2:30 Transforming UMM models to BPSSs and CPPs – Reza Shaffii, Fujitsu Consulting This session was very intruiging. Fujitsu demonstrated the BPSS and CPP/A integration for collaboration with Registry support using the Yellow Dragon/Adobe Registry.. Very impressive!!! 2:45 – 3:30 E-form designer inter-operability with registry/repository – Duane Nickull, Adobe Systems. My session demonstrated a complete implementation of the UN/CEFACT CCTS methodology including Core Components (From the Canadian Data Standards Secretariat), BIE's, Context Declarations, Assembly into a W3C Schema and using the schema to design eForms that linked into a Business process using the Adobe Forms Designer. There is code that implemented it and worked well. 3:45 – 4:10 UDDI – ebXML registry/repository inter-operability – Dan Murray, Team BCE 4:10 - 4:45 Secure Digital Forms Service – Peter Ellis, CGI Ed is cc'd above. He deserves huge kudos IMO for his efforts. Duane Nickull James Bryce Clark wrote: > Greetings.
