Michel, you should have included the next sentence before commenting:

Of course I don't expect to know everyone personally before being
able to vote for them. But I would expect anyone who wants to come
to a meeting to have shown some interest in this list beforehand.
It would be much easier for me to vote for someone who I have seen
making a useful contribution.
