In Austin we talked about altering the charter to allow the AG to publish
alternative types of specifications, namely "Technical Notes" (unapproved
documents that can be removed via a vote) and "Technical Reports" (documents
that must be approved by the AG prior to posting). I'm willing to submit
the work I'm doing as a Technical Report with the idea that the AG provide
feedback and eventually approve the document. I won't be inventing much
in the way of semantics, as I'm relying almost entirely on XML Schema
Datatypes, so I hope this won't be a difficult approval. And of course,
anyone who doesn't like it can *always* invent their own. Competition in
the marketplace of ideas is always the best way with a new technology to
find the best solution.
