Interesting ideas.

Reading through the prior emails on this topic I tend to lean to a specific date /time as it becomes a motivating factor to get prepared.  It makes it a target event.  Something the TC could use as a milestone.

Second,  My preference would be that the materials used would become part of the test suite and are validated as "proper" ODF as per the specification.

We also need to frame the event to ensure that it doesn't become a product marketing FeatureFest or vendor shootout - or target practice :).

Skype works on Linux.

But I'm less concerned about voice. I think that it will be more important to be able to see the documents via web conferencing.
